Transform your fabric +
paper off-cuts into custom
handmade paper
designed for packaging, stationery,
marketing materials, and creative reuse
from the Cave Paper studio in sunny Tucson, Arizona.
Material choices are not accidental.
The fibers used to make an object reflect decisions about quality, sourcing, performance, and craft.
They often carry a connection to place, process, and the people who made them.
Rather than discarding production remnants, hand papermaking allows natural fiber textile off-cuts, paper scraps, and agricultural biproducts to be carried forward into a new form.
The resulting paper reflects the character of the original material.
It can serve as a natural extension of the products it came from, carrying forward the same values, identity, and attention to craft.

RAG·TAG PAPER began from a desire to apply our expertise in hand papermaking to our love for sustainable design.
As a production-scale studio, we are equipped to pulp, prototype, and produce custom paper projects efficiently while maintaining an exceptional standard of craftsmanship.
01 FIRST STEPS
We begin with a conversation about your materials and what we can make from them.
This includes intended use, project scale, and how your paper will function in real applications.
02 R + D
We collect a small batch of your material to shred, pulp, and sheetform. Starting small allows us to develop the paper for full-scale production and show you what is possible.
Prototype papers are produced in a range of formats with test variations where needed.
03 PRODUCTION
Once your designs are finalized, we are ready to scale up. We pulp material in large batches and your paper is formed by hand to spec.
We also offer custom finishing services including cut edges, letterpress printing, foil stamping, and assembly, so projects arrive ready to use.
Whether you're exploring a one-time project or developing an ongoing use for recurring material waste, we can help transform what would otherwise be discarded into something useful, beautiful, and uniquely your own.
